Crunchy, Cheesy Mozzarella Sticks with Doritos Coating

Place the mozzarella cheese sticks in the freezer for at least 30 minutes to an hour to firm up. This helps prevent them from melting too quickly during frying.
Make the Coating:

In a shallow dish, combine the crushed Doritos chips, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
In another shallow dish, add the all-purpose flour.
In a third shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk to create an egg wash.
Coat the Cheese Sticks:

Take each frozen mozzarella stick and dip it into the flour, making sure it is evenly coated.
Next, dip it into the egg wash, ensuring it is fully coated with the egg mixture.
Finally, roll it in the crushed Doritos mixture, pressing gently to ensure the coating sticks well.
For an extra-crunchy crust, repeat the egg wash and Doritos coating process.
Fry the Cheese Sticks:

Heat about 2-3 inches of oil in a deep frying pan or a pot over medium-high heat. The oil should be hot but not smoking (around 350°F).
Carefully lower the coated mozzarella sticks into the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding.
Fry for 2-3 minutes, or until golden and crispy on all sides.
Remove the sticks from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serve:

Serve the cheesy mozzarella sticks immediately while they’re hot and gooey, paired with your favorite dipping sauce such as marinara, ranch, or even a spicy sriracha mayo!
