Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Prepare the Coating:
In separate shallow bowls, place the milk, shredded cheddar cheese, and crushed Ritz crackers. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to the crackers and mix to combine.
Coat the Chicken:
Dip each chicken breast into the milk, ensuring it’s fully coated, then dip it into the shredded cheddar cheese. After that, press the chicken into the crushed cracker mixture to coat both sides evenly.
Bake the Chicken:
Place the coated chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish and drizzle them with melted butter. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the chicken is golden and crispy, and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
Make the Sauce (Optional):
In a small saucepan, combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and milk. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is warm and smooth.
Serve:
Once the chicken is cooked, serve it hot with the optional creamy sauce spooned over the top, if desired.
