Chocolate Rice Krispie Balls: A Sweet and Crunchy Treat

In a heatproof bowl, melt the milk chocolate chips and peanut butter (if using) together.
Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely smooth and melted.
Prepare the Rice Krispies:

In a large mixing bowl, add the Rice Krispies cereal.
Combine and Mix:

Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the Rice Krispies and stir gently to coat the cereal evenly.
Add the vanilla extract and mix it in. If you like extra sweetness, sprinkle in powdered sugar and stir until fully combined.
Shape the Balls:

Allow the mixture to cool slightly before using your hands to form it into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
If the mixture is too sticky, lightly grease your hands with butter or oil to help with shaping.
Chill the Balls:

Place the chocolate Rice Krispie balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour, or until they firm up.
Serve and Enjoy:

Once chilled, remove the balls from the refrigerator and serve. Enjoy these crunchy, chocolatey treats anytime you need a quick snack or dessert!
