Cherry Bars for a Crowd

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12×17-inch jelly roll pan with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick spray. Set aside.

Cream the Butter and Sugar:
In the bowl of your stand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar for 1-2 minutes until light and fluffy.

Add the Wet Ingredients:
Add the salt, eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract, and continue mixing until fully incorporated.

Mix the Dry Ingredients:
Add the flour and baking powder, and mix until just combined. Reserve 1 3/4 cups of the dough.

Assemble the Bars:
Spread the remaining dough evenly into the prepared pan. Top with the cherry pie filling, spreading it out evenly. Drop small pieces of the reserved dough on top of the cherries.

Bake:
Place in the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the bars are golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack.

Prepare the Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together the confectioner’s sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled bars.

Serve:
Once the glaze has set, cut the bars into 35 squares and serve. Enjoy!
