Cheesy Tater Tot Casserole

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Cook the Ground Beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.

Sauté the Onion:
Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.

Make the Casserole Mixture:
Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it simmer for a few minutes to combine the flavors.

Assemble the Casserole:
Spread the ground beef mixture evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.

Add the Tater Tots:
Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.

Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.

Add Cheese:
Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the tater tots. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve:
Once baked, garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.
