Caramel Pretzel Delight Bars: A Sweet and Salty Indulgence

Prepare the Pretzel Base: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels with melted butter. Stir until the pretzels are evenly coated. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form an even, compact layer.
Make the Caramel: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar and sweetened condensed milk. Stir constantly until the mixture begins to bubble, and cook for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and pour the caramel mixture over the pretzel crust.
Top with Chocolate: Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the caramel layer. Place the pan in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the chocolate chips are soft and melty.
Finish and Set: Remove the pan from the oven and use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate evenly across the top. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the chocolate layer for that perfect sweet and salty contrast.
Chill and Serve: Let the bars cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set. Once firm, cut into squares or bars and serve.
