Caramel Banana Upside Down Bread: A Sweet and Gooey Treat

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan or loaf pan.
Make the Caramel Base: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and melted butter. Spread this mixture evenly across the bottom of the pan.
Arrange the Bananas: Lay the banana slices on top of the caramel mixture in a single layer, covering the entire bottom.
Make the Banana Bread Batter:

Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
Assemble and Bake:

Pour the Batter: Carefully pour the banana bread batter over the banana-caramel layer in the prepared pan. Spread it evenly.
Bake the Bread: Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool Slightly and Flip: Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then run a knife around the edges and invert the bread onto a serving plate. Be careful as the caramel topping will be hot.
