Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Prepare the meat mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork), egg, finely chopped onion, breadcrumbs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. Mix everything together until well combined.
Shape the meatloaf: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and shape it into a loaf. Alternatively, you can form the loaf into a shape that fits a standard loaf pan.
Bake the meatloaf: Place the meatloaf in the oven and bake for about 1 hour, or until it’s fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Optional topping: For extra flavor, spread a thin layer of ketchup or BBQ sauce on top of the meatloaf about 15 minutes before it’s done cooking, then return it to the oven to finish baking.
Serve: Once the meatloaf is done, let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite side dishes!
