Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
Rub the brisket with olive oil, then season generously with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and chili powder. Massage the seasoning into the meat for an even coating.
Cook the Brisket:
Place the brisket on a roasting pan or baking dish, fat side up.
Cover the pan tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 3-4 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork. Check occasionally to ensure it doesn’t dry out; you can add a small amount of water or broth to the pan if needed.
Prepare the BBQ Sauce:
While the brisket is cooking, heat your BBQ sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in Worcestershire sauce if using, for a deeper, richer flavor. Allow the sauce to simmer gently until warmed through.
Shred the Brisket:
Once the brisket is cooked and tender, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Using two forks, shred the brisket into bite-sized pieces.
Assemble the Dish:
Drizzle the warm BBQ sauce over the shredded brisket and toss to coat the meat evenly in the sauce.
Transfer the BBQ brisket to a serving dish or individual plates.
Generously sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the brisket while it is still hot, allowing the cheese to melt into the meat. You can also place the dish under a broiler for a minute or two to get the cheese bubbly and golden.
Serve:
Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and added flavor, if desired.
Serve the BBQ Brisket with Cheddar Cheese alongside your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or cornbread.
