Baked BBQ Baby Back Ribs: Tender, Flavorful, and Perfectly Glazed

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and set a wire rack on top of the baking sheet. This will allow the heat to circulate around the ribs for even cooking.

Prepare the Ribs:
Pat the baby back ribs dry with paper towels. Remove the silver skin (the thin membrane on the back of the ribs) for a more tender bite. To do this, use a butter knife to loosen one corner of the membrane, then pull it off with a paper towel for a better grip.

Season the Ribs:
Drizzle the ribs with olive oil on both sides. In a small bowl, mix the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and chili powder. Rub this spice mixture generously onto both sides of the ribs, pressing gently to adhere.

Bake the Ribs:
Place the seasoned ribs onto the prepared wire rack, bone side down. Cover the ribs loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and pulling away from the bones. Check the ribs halfway through the cooking time and baste with additional BBQ sauce if desired.

Glaze with BBQ Sauce:
After the ribs are tender, remove the foil and brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce on the ribs. Return them to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes, basting with more BBQ sauce every 10 minutes. This will allow the sauce to caramelize and create a beautiful glaze.

Serve:
Once the ribs are glazed and the sauce is sticky and caramelized, remove the ribs from the oven. Let them rest for a few minutes before slicing between the bones. Serve the ribs with your favorite sides, like coleslaw, cornbread, or roasted vegetables.
