Creamy Herb Pork Carbonade with Veggie Bulgur

Introduction
This is one of those cozy, flavorful meals that feels like it came from a high-end bistro but is easy to make at home. Tender pork carbonade is seared and simmered in a creamy garlic mushroom sauce with Italian herbs, then served alongside bulgur cooked with colorful vegetables and spices. It’s comforting, filling, and absolutely packed with flavor!

Ingredients
For the Pork and Sauce:

400 g pork carbonade, thinly sliced or pounded

1 red onion, thinly sliced

3 garlic cloves, minced

Mushrooms, sliced (about 1 cup)

1 tablespoon flour

200 ml broth (vegetable or chicken)

1 teaspoon Italian herbs

200 ml heavy cream or cooking cream

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Oil or butter, for searing

For the Bulgur:

1 cup bulgur

1 onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 bell pepper, diced

1 teaspoon curry powder

1 tablespoon butter or olive oil

2 cups water or broth

Salt, to taste

For Garnish (Optional):

1 red onion, thinly sliced

1 bell pepper, thinly sliced

Cherry tomatoes, halved

Green onion, chopped

Fresh cilantro and dill, chopped
